Seven Benefits of Praise & Worship and Prayer
Did you know that there are seven powerful benefits of praise and worship and prayer that can give you renewed strength and hope each day?
First, praise and worship and prayer draws you into fellowship with God. Like spending time with a good friend, spending time with God brings you closer to Him and opens the door for greater intimacy. James 4:8 tells you to draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
Second, when you fellowship with God in praise and worship and prayer , there is an exchange of your weakness for His strength (II Corinthians 12:9).
Third, praise and worship and prayer helps you get your priorities in order. We're often so busy doing things for our families, schools, and churches that our priorities get out of order. Jesus said, Make the kingdom of God your primary concern (Matthew 6:33 NLT). Then other things will fall into place.
Fourth, praise and worship and prayer helps you hear God's voice more clearly and protects you from being deceived by the wrong voice. Through prayer, the Holy Spirit can guide you into all truth (John 16:13).
Fifth, you receive revelation in prayer-insight that only God can give about His plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).
Sixth, you experience repentance when you pray and turn away from sin. Then you get rid of any guilt and shame, and forgiveness floods your heart (Psalm 103:12).
Seventh, when you let go of your guilt and embrace God's forgiveness, you undergo a transformation that frees you and lets you rest in Him (II Corinthians 5:17). And that rest, that peace, may be the best benefit of all!

Persistent Prayer
Years ago I asked a friend, "Why is it that troubles never go away?" He said, "So you’ll stay on your knees." There’s no substitute for being persistent when we pray. Jesus spoke clearly to us about persevering in prayer in Matthew 7:7. He said, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. In other words, don’t quit. Sometimes asking will not work. If it doesn’t, seek. Sometimes seeking will not work. If it doesn’t, knock. And keep knocking until the door opens!
We cannot experience God’s best with halfhearted, thoughtless prayers. James 5:16 says, The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. We can see miracles if we learn to persevere in prayer.
